Hey mates! I am still alive down here in AUSTRALIA! So it's time to tell you about my "Aussie experiences" so far... *The wildlife...is fascinating and there are a lot of weird things here, some of which are hazardous to your health. However, and despite what you may have read, the "nasties" really aren't much of a problem because, in general, they'll leave you alone if you don't bother them. I met spiders, snakes and crocodiles - but only in the Featherdale Wildlife Park! And of course, not to forget, I made new friends with some of the numerous Wallabys and Koalas!!! Having seen them for the first time in my life, I was as happy and excited as a little child! *The people...most of the Aussies I've met during the past two months have been really friendly, helpful and open. I didn't expect that since there are heaps of foreigners living in Australia. But Aussies do not see them as a "burden" or whatever. No wonder over 120 nationalities have migrated to Australia (many of them British), making it one of the most multicultural countries in the world! That's why I still cannot really judge on the "Australian lifestyle". In Sydney it's a mix of all. So I am looking forward to my trip where I will head out to the Outback to learn more of the Aborigines and their relationship with the land, their spirituality and their struggle, see their rock art - which is the oldest in the world - and of course to visit the Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock... My internship ends this Friday...how time flies! I definitly enjoyed living in Sydney but now I am curious to see the remote parts of Australia. On Saturday, 17 November 2007, my trip starts! I am so excited! I follow up with an update as soon as possible! Have a good one everybody! Below, some Australian impressions...
