Hey mates! I am still alive down here in AUSTRALIA! So it's time to tell you about my "Aussie experiences" so far...

*The wildlife...is fascinating and there are a lot of weird things here, some of which are hazardous to your health. However, and despite what you may have read, the "nasties" really aren't much of a problem because, in general, they'll leave you alone if you don't bother them. I met spiders, snakes and crocodiles - but only in the Featherdale Wildlife Park! And of course, not to forget, I made new friends with some of the numerous Wallabys and Koalas!!! Having seen them for the first time in my life, I was as happy and excited as a little child!

*The people...most of the Aussies I've met during the past two months have been really friendly, helpful and open. I didn't expect that since there are heaps of foreigners living in Australia. But Aussies do not see them as a "burden" or whatever. No wonder over 120 nationalities have migrated to Australia (many of them British), making it one of the most multicultural countries in the world! That's why I still cannot really judge on the "Australian lifestyle". In Sydney it's a mix of all.

So I am looking forward to my trip where I will head out to the Outback to learn more of the Aborigines and their relationship with the land, their spirituality and their struggle, see their rock art - which is the oldest in the world - and of course to visit the Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock...

My internship ends this Friday...how time flies! I definitly enjoyed living in Sydney but now I am curious to see the remote parts of Australia.

On Saturday, 17 November 2007, my trip starts! I am so excited! I follow up with an update as soon as possible! Have a good one everybody!

Below, some Australian impressions...

My view when I take the ferry in the morning to get to work! Absolutely overwhelming!

Well, this time I´m not gonna start with wondering about how time flies and how long it's been since my last entry. Indeed, it's been a long time and I am already back in old and cold Germany, back from Spain where I lived the past three months...it was a great experience and eventually everything was fine. I got the job in the language school and they even offered me to stay, to work as a "real employee" but there is another "offer" I got: to do an internship in SYDNEY!!! Wow, I never thought this would become reality!!! I do not realize it actually. Not even yet, 5 days before my departure! It's soooo crazy! Three months living in Spain, going on to live in Australia and what will come next? Sometimes I'm scared about all these changes in life but at the same time they are making you grow, experienced and last but not least let me fell being alive...I'm still thinking about my time in Spain and I do miss a lot of things, especially the people I met over there and of course the sun, the beach and beautiful landscape...this is one photo I took in Los Canos de Meca (near Tarifa). It was my last night before going back to Germany. Me and my french friend Guillaume were sitting overthere, picknicking and philosophizing about life. One of the best places to do that!

I'll drop a line as soon as possible...looking forward to tell you all about Australia!

Wow, it's been a long time since my last entry. I was living in Switzerland...well, and now I'm living in Spain (Marbella) for a while. I say for a while cause I don't know how long I will stay here actually. I just found a job in a cool restaurant and now am looking for another job on the premises.

Well...little comment so far, Marbella is a beautiful cute town, the beaches are great and the sun is shining all day long! You may ask yourself what do I need more!? Well...I need my friends around, my family and a good job I really like to do. The restaurant job is not that kind of job I was looking for but I thought first I kind of have something to start with my Spanish improvement, I am well paid and they gave me a room in an apartment which I share with an Irish guy. That's really cool and I could be happy but even though I'm not feeling good at the moment. If you are in a nice place, of course you always wanna share it with a person you love but....well, I broke up with the person I love before I came here to Spain. This is a long story and I should not talk about it right now cause Im feeling a bit better today than the other days. So let's go on with the good news...I gave my CV to an international language school here in town and it seems like they are interested in me. Now we just have to see how I manage with my restaurant job in the evening. I really would like to quit this job but on the other hand they pay very good, so I have to pray that the working conditions in the language school are a bit the same. Well, physically it can not be worse than this f***ing waitress job. It's so hard. And hey, I always think about the fact that I got my Diploma last July and so I actuallt do not have to do these kind of jobs. It was just a quite good opportunity to come here and look for something else...so pray that it'll work out fine with the language school!

If this shouldn't work I've got another opportunity. Next Monday I should go to Castellón (East coast) for an interview to get the job as receptionist in a 4-Star Hotel. My spanish friend Ximo knows the guys and recommended me. It's crazy, during the first days here in Marbella I just really wanted to quit the waitress job and leave Marbella but now I just hope that I find another job in this little cute town cause a frensh friend of mine is working in Marbella as well and so I'm kind of happy to have at least one person here in town I know already. And we always have much fun together. Unfortunately, he starts working at 11 am and finishes when I start working. So we do not really have much time for each other...but maybe next time we will have one day off together.

So...that's all for now. Let's enjoy the sunshine and make the most out of it here in Spain! I should be happy and I think it gonna get better every day...

Bye!

It's been a while since my last entry...life has been good to me in the last months but not at the moment. Well, life cannot always be that easy...I hope I'll be strong enough to manage the comming days, weeks, months. Besides I'll leave for "a while" at the end of November - working in Switzerland is my "mission". Of course, there are not only advantages but the fact that I won't see my family for a long time, not even on Christmas and on New Year's Day...especially in this situation. I feel like letting them down...
